TSUNDOKU

I have always found myself buying or borrowing books even if I suspected or knew fully well I wouldn't make the time to read them. Just found out there's actually a word for that, in Japanese - tsundoku! Quite amused by this discovery.

The American author A.E.Newton has described the EXACT way I feel about this behaviour:

"Even when reading is impossible, the presence of books acquired produces such an ecstasy that the buying of more books than one can read is nothing less than the soul reaching towards infinity ... we cherish books even if unread, their mere presence exudes comfort, their ready access reassurance."

SO true!
