ALWAYS, NEVER, AND FOREVER

I am increasingly becoming aware of the silliness of the words, 'always', 'never', and 'forever' - especially when it comes to relationships. Embarrassed at my steadfast conviction in these convenient byproducts of overwhelming moments. And angered by people who have dampened the intoxication of these once-wonderful words for me.

What people say and what they really are capable of:
I will always love you = I love you now
I will never stop needing you = I need you now
We will be together forever = We are together now

Leave the flowery language to the poets, ye mere mortals. And ye enlightened ones, slap the blind believers for their own good.

Love and one or more of these words in the same sentence screams high school kids to me :) I have wondered too, why people can't simply stop with I love you...what is the need to attach these words to it, I don't understand.

Good to see you posting. Make it frequently, since you write well.

at the age of 40, i have come to the conclusion that every emotions that one feels has its base in selfishness...its not a bad thing, it just is...from the time we were born, we have mistaken need for love, greed for love, possessiveness for love, lust for love, companionship for love etc...we use the word love to color any emotions , to give it some kind of misplaced validity...there is a claim that real love is eternal..but i think its bullshit...theres nothing arnd us which is eternal, let alone love...

this shouldnt make u bitter, it rather shud make u feel free...

Might sound corny, but I always say "Alleeways" as an all encompassing term for my fiancee and I to express always, and forever sort of things.

Sucks that the person saying them to you only meant "now"... but that was maybe not your soul mate, so therefore it's okay, right?

(hug)

But most of us still crave for these words... We always prefer hearing what we want to hear rather than the truth. Most of us lead lives in delusion.. of exaggerated self-importance, till one fine day we wake up empty handed....
