SONY ERICSSON Vs NOKIA

Rathi is not a big fan of Sony Ericsson. After all, just half a cup of hot tea over her W710i - and the darn phone stops working!

My sister agrees with Rathi. "I've dropped my Nokia even into the commode and it works just fine".

A new era in endurance testing dawns...

Oh yes I wholesomely support Rathi's views....I hate my W 710 i...soemhow it never has proper signals half the time...whereas my previous nokia would work even in the miners tunnels.. :(

I love my SE K790i. The phone functions very well, never had to take it to repair in the 2 years of usage, display is superb, camera is superb. My previous phone was a K700i and that too was superb. If I am ever going to try a new phone, I would only think about iPhone and that too if SE doesn't have anything similar at the time of iPhone's official release. :-)

haha phones... aren't they wonderful things! i love my nokia.. and still no other phone has been able to compare to its quality and ability to handle as much abuse as I give it! LOL! One Nokia of mine survived a couple of flights of stairs as well as two long dips in the water and then decided to call it a day one last and final day!

Vine...as you know my previous nokia phone's life is 4yrs and still goin on. NOKIA is the best :)
My next mobile selection would be Nokia with no second thought.

I thought I was alone in putting a Nokia handset through unique endurance tests (dropping it inside a commode, dropping in from a moving vehicle and picking the pieces from the road ..putting it back together to find it work), good to know I have company in your sister. Nothing like Nokia .... Paavai

@prats: you're stuck with a w710i too? rathi feels better now :-)

@sri: you mean commode testing? :-)

@jo: loyal SE customer i see :-)

Vinesh said...

@preethzzz: wonder how the nokia guys test their phones out... stairs, water...hmm..

@rathi: i'm glad you got the opportunity to understand i was right ;-)

@shruti: haha! treat it like a lady..

Vinesh said...

@kausikram krishnasayee: hehe, yes.. and on the phone, it did drip..

@arkev: you're the first person to have testified that a sony ericsson has passed the commode test :-)

@karthik srinivasan: that's true.. nothing to beat a nokia :-)

Has any one tried NOKIA N-GAGE? The best phone I have had in my life. You can play a FIFA video game just like the options available on the PC. Since this one is made for Gaming, the battery life and the screen size is amazing. Like all good things dont last for ever, the phone lost some of the crucial keys - like the call button! I wish Nokia had gone ahead and brought the advanced model of N-Gage which was in the pipeline...

@keshi: yes, i've written to nokia/SE with their recommendation..

@tekybala: right-o!

@anonymous(paavai): what? i didn't think people dropped handsets into the commode regularly - LoL!

I haven't yet done the commode test on my SE!
but, Nokia always survive the commode test!! :D he he!!

Ummm.. I don’t agree with ur sis. Me too dropped my Nokia once in commode.. And it never worked after that :(.
Me.. a BIG fan of Sony Ericsson. My last phone was Sony K700i (the most sturdy phone I have ever used) And now I have W 580i (the most delicate phone I have ever seen!!).
Though I agree that Nokia phones are more sturdier.. I feel Sony gives variety of features and comparatively in less price than Nokia. Sony camera quality is also better.. (no doubt bcs they produce their own cameras).. But yeah.. my vote is for Sony Ericsson

Err.. Yeah.. I have company here of I-dropped-my-cells-in-commode people.. yayyyy :D

LOL! you have dropped your Nokia into the commode?! That was funny though.I think it was accidentally.isn't it? Anyways nice blog

Vinesh said...

@destination infinity: looks like their intention was never to make the phone for calling/talking! :-)

@aravind: always? you're a regular i see :-)

@prachi: oh god, i think the people who HAVEN'T dropped the phone in a commode are the minority group now :-)

@photobuch: it was my sister... but yes, accidentally... though i didn't ask and confirm :-)

Agree with u totally! my old nokia phone has taken bath in my coffee mug, soup boul and even in my dog's milk cup! and it has been the same always working! but ericsson doesnt!
and still i subject my old nokia phone to all kind of such weird tests to prove its innocent endurance,,
May be i shud try in orange juice ;)

Anonymous said...

I don't GET it....people actually drop phones commodes and then TEST it too see if it still works? If I ever drop my phone in the commode, the only place its going is DOWN (or out and into the garbage for fear of a blocked commode which is the only thing that worse than a normal commode)!!!

And where the heck do you keep the phone in the first place for it to drop into the commode???

Kishore

hehehe! half a cup of hot tea... :D

Vinesh said...

@my musings: i will be happy to feature the results of your testing with orange juice on this blog :-) if you can send me pictures or video, that is :-)

@kishore: i think the best place to store phones are in the anus at a temperature of 98.4 degrees fahrenheit :-)

@veens: yup! :-)

The Seeker said...

yeah! as i eagerly searching and waiting for my old nokia's presence, sth happened @ a restauarnt yaesterday evening! my ericsson fell into the finger bowl, Thankfully nothing happened, It seems water got into the keypad, otherwise its quite the same old!!!

SO! ericsson fighting its way up Nokia in its innocent durability

Vinesh said...

@my musings: wow - ill chalk up a point for SE :-)

After soup test and floor test and staircase test and commode tests, Nokia leads :-)

I don't like nokia phones because their menu is simple and it gives a simple look.
But sonic erricson has stylish menu and good models.
