BROAD BANNED

BSNL will not give me broadband because they don't have the "feasibility".
Airtel will not give me broadband because they have "exceeded their maximum capacity".
Reliance does not like me and will not answer my call.
Sify does not know. Anything.
Tata Indicom retired their broadband services (how did they know I needed one?)
Hathway offers the worst plans.
All data cards suck.

I live in the Silicon Valley of India. Off Bannerghatta Road.

I used Hathway in Hyd. It's the worst service I have ever had the misfortune to encounter.

Seems to me like you're stuck with the data card till BSNL wakes up.

:(

Haah! "exceeded the maximum capacity" sounds a little strange for a company like Airtel.

I use a Reliance data card here and so far it works fine. (The price is too high though).

@serendipity: grrrrr.. grrr.. and more grrr..

@jo: that's exactly what they said, though! :-(

Same is the case with me.

BSNL will take 2 to 3 months to give connection.
Airtel - I dint try at all - seems very costly for minimum usage I do at home.(It has increased its rates).
Reliance either doesn't suit my needs.
Tata Indicom response was better. Will have to think. They did a "feasibility study" and said its possible.
Hathway don't offer connection in the area I am in.
I am in Koramangala Inner Ring Road, right opposite to embassy golf links where Dell, IBM, Sasken, Airtel, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs have their offices.:-(

How is Reliance USB modem?

Vinesh said...

@fathima: thanks for the number.
people i know have used this to good effect, but it doesn't work well at all in some areas. you have to check before you buy..

it's so bad at my house i'd rather not use the internet than struggle with it

am in the same place just off BG Road. I have a BSNL connection for quite sometime. i agree with fathima, it took almost 3 months for me to get a BB connection from BSNL
