LOGIC ILLAA MAGIC SOMETHING

Trisha and Jeyam Ravi
Saw the movie Unakkum Enakkum over the holiday weekend. First, I think it is a good approach by Karunanidhi to encourage films to be named in thamizh luring producers with the tax-free carrot. Stark contrast to Ramadoss and his henchmen who tore posters and damaged cinema halls.

It is amusing, however, to note that NOBODY refers to the movie as Unakkum Enakkum. Even the box office lady when I asked for the tickets, clarified, "You mean Something Something? Are you asking for Something Something". I blushed immediately, for she was kind of cute, but quickly realised she was referring to the erstwhile name of the movie.

I enjoyed the movie thoroughly! Which was a major surprise because the movie had:
- Jeyam Ravi, whom I don't like
- Trisha, whom I like, but not in village belle clothes, and sucked in this movie
- Cliched sentiment scenes
- 0% chemistry between the lead pair
- Almost no logic
- Predictable toilet/bad cooking jokes every 5 minutes

What worked in the movie for me was Devi Sri Prasad's music (which was ripped apart in all magazine reviews), Santhanam's comedy (the guy RULES), and..... god knows what else! Really surprising, but not a single dull moment in the movie! :-)

I had this opinion about myself that I could not enjoy masala movies anymore, and that I'd progressed to "classier" movies. The great time I had watching this one reassured me that I'm still a normal human being.

mm its entertaining.. but its a scene by scene copy(ok ok poshly called as remake) of prabhudeva's NVNV (acronym of a telugu movie --full form is too difficult to pronunce), puriyatiyum once i had the chance to watch it with a telugu fan friend of mine..oru fast moving cartoon la mulgina ponaa madiri i sat up to watch the whole movie. ippo remake paakumpodhu, first thing v usually wont like a remade movie but this one wasnt bad.. aana trisha andha overactinga continue panniruka vendam.. and this ravi..uh uh un bearable..

U have a smart review here with both sides. A very balanced critique who has his own humour to the entire review. If not for anything, I may watch the movie, thanks to your review....The new policy via Karuna is surely smart!! :)

Jayam Ravi is no match to the NRI role portrayed beautifully by Siddarth in NVNV... Anyways, the movie was widely publicised as Trisha's movie by "Thamizhagathin Kanavu Devadhai" Trisha fan club(which includes anonymous members like me :-D)

And reg the music, I don't know what is wrong with it, that every review speaks bad abt it.. Thankfully atleast u enjoyed it... I really love songs like "Un Paarvayil" and "Something Something"...

It is a decent album compared to Vaazhameenu, Tharuviya Tharamaatiya, Humma Hummamma etc, which are normally rated on top by Sun TV :-D

Huh, such hogwash!

'Jil endru oru Kadhal' was F2ed to 'Chillendru Oru Kadhal' for the carrot. Now... as one of my friends said .. since when did 'Chill' become a part of the Tamil wordrobe?

I absolutely adored 3sha in this movie. She looks prettier now! In a few years, she may even start to act!

BTW, I think this is just a remixed version of 'Maine Pyar Kiya'
