PITCHING IN


Saw this slogan outside a gift shop yesterday:
"Pichkaaris available for cheap prices"
Was shocked though I knew it couldn't mean what it looked like.
A friend then explained that Pichkaari is a device used to spray Holi colors!

I still find the sound of that word very funny! :-D

For those who don't know thamizh, "pichkaari" means "beggar woman".

Pichkaari in hindi means to let out a spray of anything water, color etc so I don't think this word is funny...
Still it's nice to increase my vocab for coming to know other meaning could be beggar women

I didn't know that tamil is also called thamizh.

A collegue of mine is tamil and she has taught me quite a few words.
