ANSWER ME REE

Some questions that have always tickled my head..
Am hoping that this blogcrowd will throw up answers..

1. Why do terrorists threaten to attack only on festivals and national holidays? Especially when they know that the security will be on high alert..

2. Why is the Prince of Arcot still given so much importance? On special occasions, his "message to the people" is always covered by the media..

3. What is the deal with the Cooum river? Who is responsible for all the mess in the first place, the British?

A1> "kudukara sambalathukku police olungaa vela seiraangala paaka" - vivek's dialogue in anniyan :)

A2> Even at this age, unfortunately he is still a "Prince of Arcot". Maybe he needs media's support to become "The King of Arcot". Afterall, media could bring people like ramar pillai to limelight..

A3> It all started with a 'pee' and some 'shit'. Cannot be the British. They use only western commodes and don't go 'uchha in the road'. It ought to be a sardar from the British regiment !

I am reminded of the 'thinging man'(not a typo) joke of Koundamani & Senthil.

1. More death, more popularity, more coverage

2. Nawab of Arcot was the ruler of our Chennai ba! Taken by British cos they dint have any male children to inherit the Prince's wealth (Chennai) - check ur history books

3. Yeah. It was a proper river till the turn of the century, then sedimentation and industrial dumping lead to stagnation and gabbification.

1) thoppai mama's work only on those few days... summa thuppaki pidichindu thoongradhukku konjam alert-a irukkanga illa? so its good in one way... we have to thank terrorists for that actually :-)

2) raja-nu sollika avar oruthar thaan irukaaru tamilnaatla.. may be andha mariyaadhai-ya irukkalaam.. or to ping him once in a while and check if he is alive or not, so that govt can swaaha his properties :-D

3) If u r asking abt why cooum stinks, then we have to get back our great grand parents from heaven to answer it.. if it is abt enroachments being removed from cooum here is the answer:
ammaku edhaachum pidikkala.. "thookungada" nu order vandhudum.. be it ppl or property.. idhula gaptun thala vera uruludhu. deeviravaadhi tendhu ethana times India-va kaapathinaaru?? edhaan avarukku seiyara nandri kadanaa? :P

My answers

1. The maximum damage can be done and create a psycho fear on the public that they could not even have a day peacefully during festival and national holiday.

2. It is mere politics. Trying to create a image among public. Also Prince of Arcot has a good amount of property and the Government depends on such rich people for some huge donations.

3. Cooum was the only channel used in those days to let out the treated sewerages to the Sea. As days have rolled by, more population, lack of amenities and bad quality in treatment of sewerage, also public attitude. We desis have a very bad attitude public, and no though towards hygiene and environment, ecology etc. Long way to go... I do not know whether you have seen Pamba river near Sabirmala. There is lot of difference to see it during season and off season. The level of pollution is easily visible. So it is all the people, system and the attitude.

1. Why do terrorists threaten to attack only on festivals and national holidays? Especially when they know that the security will be on high alert.

..coz the terrorists are busy (at work) in office on non-holidays (Hope the underlying meaning is understood) !!!
