THE POWER WITHIN?

In one of the scenes in Chandramukhi, Jyotika (overwhelmed by her split personality), lifts an extremely heavy iron bed (that required several strong men to carry into the house) in a fit of rage. I laughed, and dubbed it a highly implausible scene.

Today, in my gym, I was doing the bench press, when this song "Vetrikkodi Kattu" (Movie: Padayappa) began to play on Radio Mirchi. It is one of my favourite songs - one of a rare kind that sends my mood pumping in frenzy each time I listen to it. Listening to it on my computer itself (with "local" speakers) sends my blood rushing to my head. Here, it was blaring from the gym speakers, and my adrenaline was boiling over, spilling out of my skin pores!!!

Suddenly, I saw a familiar face. My gym instructor.

"Saar, enough! Enough! "Don't overdo it! You won't become Schwarzenegger in ONE day!"

He told me that I'd been pushing the weights up and down atleast 44 times!! Usually, I struggle to do the standard 12 reps! He had been watching me and keeping count, surprised to see me do so many, and waited to see how far I would go. I was sucked into this song, and had totally lost track of what I was doing! Very dangerous, in a gym!

I'm a little scared now!! Where did the strength come from? And my body feels like a crushed tin can!

my personal advice.. don't do the traditional bench press.. instead do the advanced chest press (if available). the traditional one's side effects are very detrimental in the future.

yea, i agree with you.. some songs are very motivational. thats exactly when one should'nt get carried over. :-)

work out safe!
